Instruction: Development Advice

In 2017 Graham Chase was instructed by Southend Borough Council to advise on proposals by Southend Football Club to develop a new football stadium supported in commercial terms by the development of over 300,000 sq ft shopping park on the same site close to Southend Airport. The facility would have an open A1 retail use together with significant commercial leisure and food and beverage facilities. Graham reported on the commercial impact on Southend town centre shopping and leisure facilities of a competing mass market shopping centre in an out of centre location near the airport as proposed by the football club.
